David Brooks thinks this marks the beginning of the end for Obama's signature achievement:
I doubt the health care bill will survive in anything like its current form. It was and is tremendously unpopular. The Republicans ran on repeal. They got a clear mandate to repeal the thing. Obviously they don’t have the power to do it all in one swoop. But they will chip away. As more companies drop insurance coverage because of the plan, they will chip away further. Four or six years from now we will find it significantly altered, maybe beyond recognition.
Yeah, and President Obama got a clear mandate FOR healthcare reform. It was a pretty important part of his platform in 2008.
