I suspected that the pundits were much too hard on Obama's address from the White House, on the oil leak. It wasn't a stunning speech, but it did the job of letting the nation know he taking it seriously and the government was doing all it could to help the victims. New polling suggests that - along with his "shakedown" of BP - it has increased the public's confidence in him.
