Just in case you thought the Daily Mail had something against Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems, it has a leader column that clears that up this morning:
There can be only one credible explanation for the utterly irrational outpouring of support for the Liberal Democrats after a mere 90 minutes of X Factor-style TV politics: the public, disgusted by the near moral bankruptcy of the last Parliament, is looking for revenge...First, let's be clear that this newspaper has nothing against the Lib-Dems.
Ah, that's good to hear. Just as well, as I know people reading this (originally published under the headline "Is there anything British about Nick Clegg?") might have got the wrong impression.
Also, a quick survey of the Mail's recent Lib Dem stories might lead you to imagine the paper has something against them, but only if you're utterly irrational.
You'd think the Mail might have realised by now that for a lot of the population, anything that newspaper is against must have something going for it...
