When Arnold Schwarzenegger's final term as Governor of California comes to an end in the autumn, he'll be at a loose end. Making Terminator Five probably won't get his endorphins pumping.
But there might just be a new political opening for him. Obama's Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, is rumoured to be considering a run for the governorship of Colorado (the incumbent, Bill Ritter, has just announced his retirement). If Salazar steps down, then it could be that Arnie - an effusive fan of this president - is invited to step up, and handed a high-profile brief on climate change.
Given Hilary's and Joe Biden's experiences, perhaps a surer way to be appointed to high office under Obama is to first diss him publicly.
