The great thing about the Clinton-for-SoS story is that it allows everyone another snort of the intoxicating Obama-Clinton primary battle, albeit in a far milder, Methadone-like form. No wonder the pundits, including this one, are obsessed by it. It reminds us of when we were happiest...
Some notable notes on it:
Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic's pro-Israeli writer, thinks Clinton would be good for the prospect of peace in the Middle East.
David Broder, veteran pundit, strokes his long white beard, frowns, and shakes his head.
Dick Morris, former aide to Bill Clinton and now slightly crazed enemy of Hillary, has a not-that-implausible albeit deeply Machiavellian reading of events.
I accept your apology for this very silly post: http://marbury.typepad.com/marbury/2008/05/2008-in-brief.html
I must say, you have redeemed yourself immeasurably since this hiccup. I look forward to reading your non-Morris-citing book
