Biden must have been channelling Marbury's advice during that debate. He nailed it all. It takes great finesse to manage to come across as both wise and relatable. He truly is a Regular Joe, one with whom anyone would enjoy having a few beers, and yet the guy has a superb intellect and impressive experience. For Democrats, he's where Palin could be in 20 years if the Republicans would let her weather more years of governing (and become better acquainted, at a natural pace, with world history and geopolitics) instead of propelling her insanely fast to the national level. We need 'regular' people representing Americans in government, but their experience, knowledge and world awareness must exceed the 'regular'. As much as I hate to say it, because I dislike her politics, if Palin did this well after preparing 'cram'-style while juggling campaigning and parenting duties for five weeks, she could, in time, mature into a political force to be reckoned with -- as long as she keeps her 'regular' vibe as Biden has done.
