This year's conventions have been the most watched ever.

That's testament to the extraordinarily high levels of interest in this election. It's particularly pleasing for the Republicans - it has been assumed, until now, that people were more interested in Obama and the Dems than in the GOP, but if anything, the Republican convention edged it in terms of viewers. What people actually made of it all - well, that we'll find out over the next couple of weeks.
