In an interview with the BBC, Bill Clinton has kind words for Gordon Brown, describing him has having a "big brain and a good heart." Clinton's praise may be somewhat less valuable now than it was before the presidential campaign, but his advice is always worth listening to. Here, he gently hints that Brown should stop thinking tactically and start with what he wants to do as PM. Brown, says Clinton, needs to trust that the politics will look after themselves: "If you get one of these jobs, the best politics is to do the job." Brown may absorb that lesson a little too late.
