Time's Karen Tumulty lists the five key mistakes made by Hillary Clinton's campaign over the course of this race. The overall theme is complacency: her team prepared for this race confident that she could win it by running on her experience and inevitability, and that tried and trusted methods of fundraising and campaigning would see her over the top by Super Tuesday. In other words, they never quite adapted to the game-changing arrival of Senator Obama. Like the stories of people who get fired from their job but keep putting on a suit and travelling to the office every day, her campaign absorbed the shock of Obama's entry into the race and just carried on as before.
The comment at the end says it all-
-When the task at hand is healing divisions in the Democratic Party, the loser can have as much influence as the winner.-
Hillary now has a new role to play but if she plays it well then who knows what the future might hold for her.
