The general tenor of the coverage today is still very down on Obama, and the polls show Romney moving to a tie or small lead. It's extraordinary: I can't remember the mood and momentum of an election reversing with quite such ferocious velocity and force as they have done in the last week. Whatever happens, Obama has squandered the seemingly bullet-proof advantage he (or rather, his campaign) built up after the conventions.
I'll be away from the keyboard for the rest of the week. I leave you with the above bad lip-reading extravaganza.
Also: Maureen Dowd is really perceptive, I think, about Obama's psychology, and Ross Douthat good on the deeper political reason for the president's poor performance. Do read both.
See you Monday.
