
The headstone of the ex-Factory Records boss was co-designed by the great Peter Saville. It took three years, most of which would have been taken up in a debate about fonts. Worth it though.
The quotation in the bottom right is from a 1876 novel called The Manchester Man, by Isabella Varley Banks:
Mutability is the epitaph of worlds
Change alone is changeless
People drop out of the history of a life as of a land
though their work or their influence remains
