backing the green revolutions

There is, in theory, a confluence of interest between left and right in American politics when it comes to climate change and green energy. Weaning America off its dependence on oil isn't just good for the planet but (and this applies even if you don't believe or care about the latter) it reduces the country's dependence on Middle-East oil. Climate change campaigners haven't made much of this so far, perhaps out of squeamishness. This ad, in support of the climate-change bill that's currently languishing on Capitol Hill, will offend some liberal sensibilities, but it's a pretty powerful way of making that connection:
