If the Brown-Darling plan comes off, Gordon Brown can expect some farcically good coverage from around the world for his leadership in this crisis. In fact it's already started. Here's the NYT columnist and economist Paul Krugman:
Has Gordon Brown, the British prime minister, saved the world financial system?
Krugman's answer? If this works, then yes - thanks to the "clarity and decisiveness" of the British action.
UPDATE: and a Nobel prize winner no less. Krugman that is. Brown will have to wait.
