Although I think Biden will cause Obama a few problems during the campaign - his past is too long and his mouth too big not to - I'm glad he's been picked. He is, as I think even his opponents would admit, a big-hearted guy and somebody who really knows his stuff when it comes to foreign policy.
To me it says that Obama's a realist when it comes to bringing change to Washington - he knows he can't just sweep in there, light up the city with his beautiful words, and smile beatifically as Congress passes a comprehensive health care plan. He needs somebody who knows every lever and string to pull in that town, and Biden's the guy.
Biden was also, I'm glad to say, picked by Marbury as Obama's number one veep contender back in May.
