So, today voters go to the polls in South Dakota and Montana for the final primaries of this extraordinary season.
Tonight the Obama campaign has a rally scheduled in St Paul, Minneapolis, in the same hall that John McCain is due to accept the Republican nomination in, come September. Obama's team is trying to persuade enough superdelegates to announce for him immediately after today's results are announced that Obama can declare victory or something like it in his speech - the 'movie ending' to the race.
The Clinton team has hastily booked a gym in New York (they were originally scheduled to be in D.C.) for this evening's event, and has invited top donors and supporters to attend. Clinton is unlikely to concede tonight. But she will probably give a sort of valedictory, laying out what her campaign has been about, what it's achieved and so on - her version of 'the dream will never die' (better now than at the convention). Expect a concession announcement later in the week.
St. Paul is the capital city of the state of Minnesota. Minneapolis is it's larger, younger neighbor. St. Paul and Minneapolis are often referred to as the 'Twin Cities'. :)
