“This primary election on Tuesday is a game changer,” Mrs. Clinton told
a crowd in Kinston. “This is going to make a huge difference in what
happens going forward. The entire country — probably even a lot of the
world — is looking to see what North Carolina decides.” (NYT)
It's a commendably bold move by the Clinton camp to go hell-for-leather in North Carolina rather than focusing exclusively on Indiana. If she ends up losing N.C by ten points and only wins Indiana narrowly, then she may wish she'd spent all her time in the Hoosier State. Throwing down her chips on an upset in Obama's demographic heartland is a gamble. But at this stage, it's the right thing to do. A win here is the only thing that will really change the dynamics of this race.
