This, from Ambinder, must be pretty scary reading for Obama:
Though she has banned her staff from speculating about the vice presidency, people close to her -- people who know her -- believe that she would want to be asked to serve and would want to serve, if the situation presented itself.
Obama will do everything he can to resist having to offer Clinton the VP slot. Her very presence on the ticket would undermine his message of change, and the thought of her building a power base in his White House, with her husband knocking around too, must bring him out in a cold sweat.
Thing is, there will be a lot of pressure on Obama from certain quarters within the party to offer it to her, as a way of healing the party after this long and bruising battle. It is an embrace he will strain every sinew to avoid.
