As Senator Barack Obama wrapped up a drop-by visit to the Sunrise Cafe here today, he was posing for a photograph with two waitresses and the restaurant’s owner. When he leaned in for the picture, touching his leg to one of the older women, he suddenly cracked a smile.
“That’s my phone buzzing there,” he said, gesturing to his right pocket. “I don’t want you to think I’m getting fresh or anything.”
Full report here.
Well, duh. Who starts BUZZING when they're 'getting fresh'? Apart from bees? What a weirdo.

I think the reporting style and choice of words makes it sound worse. Imagine it being written this way:
"When he leaned in for the picture, touching his leg to one of the older women, [he smiled sheepishly].
"'That's my phone buzzing there,' he said, gesturing to his right pocket. 'I don't want you to think I'm getting fresh or anything.'"
The choice of phrase "crack a smile" implies perversity in his words. I wasn't there, so maybe he did mean it that way.
Or maybe he was just embarrassed that something in his pocket was vibrating against the lady's leg. That would be pretty embarrassing for me.
