Hillary

I'm wondering how one short anecdote could find a more perfect synthesis between the apparently opposing archetypes of Obama as the 'innocent' 'idealist' (and, we infer, hardworking serious politician, not to mention devoted monogamous husband) and Obama as pheromone-leaking, virile, magnetic alpha male.

Priest and warrior? You've got 'em both there, my friend. Rev Wright should be on BO's payroll. Or, like, not.

marbury

I would see your point if Obama had been portrayed as anything but a shocked innocent in this telling.

Hillary

I'm not questioning that, and I'm sure it was genuine. But, in this anecdote, even as he IS the innocent abroad he is ALSO apparently irresistible to women - to the point where they become barely controlled in his presence. And, in fact, the sense of raw masculinity that that implies is only heightened by the assurance that Obama doesn't even know he's deploying it! He can't stop himself! He just exudes power and desirability! Women are almost literally falling at his feet and yet he just steps over them, eyes firmly fixed on a higher purpose. Potent AND moral: it's a heady combo.

He's so gorgeous, swoon, thud, etc.
